Barripet Spray Plus MD Medical Device

BARRIPET Spray Plus MD is a topical spray-type medical device designed to provide protective care for compromised skin and wounds with little exudate in animals such as dogs and cats. It is particularly useful when a non-contact application is preferred or when the affected area is difficult to apply cream to.

BARRIPET Spray Plus MD is positioned for wound and skin protection, including scratches, abrasions, minor skin damage, wounds with little exudate, postoperative trauma and suture sites. It can also be considered for irritated skin, paw pads and areas where direct application may be difficult or uncomfortable.

When applied, BARRIPET Spray Plus MD forms a physical film on the skin, helping to reduce moisture evaporation and maintain a moisturised environment. Its formulation also contains DERMA-CLERA®, recombinant collagen, dexpanthenol and PDRN, which are described in the product material as supporting skin soothing, barrier protection and tissue-repair processes.

One of the key advantages is non-contact application. This can be particularly useful for painful, sensitive or difficult-to-reach areas where rubbing an ointment directly onto the skin may be uncomfortable. It can also be convenient for areas such as postoperative sites or wounds where minimal physical contact is preferred.

Yes. The product material specifically positions BARRIPET Spray Plus MD for protective care of postoperative suture sites and wound areas following veterinary procedures. However, the veterinarian should assess the surgical site and determine whether the product is appropriate for the individual case.

Shake well before use. Hold the spray approximately 5 cm from the affected area and spray 2–4 times. The product material recommends application 4–6 hours a day, and it is intended for external use only.

It is positioned for scratches, abrasions, minor skin damage and wounds with little exudate. For deep wounds, significant bleeding, severe inflammation or infection, veterinary diagnosis and appropriate treatment should be prioritised rather than relying on BARRIPET alone.

No. BARRIPET Spray Plus MD does not contain steroids or antibiotics. The product material also states that it is formulated without fragrances, pigments, parabens, mineral oil, phenoxyethanol and triethanolamine.

BARRIPET can be used alongside steroids, antibiotics or antifungal treatments under veterinary guidance. When prescription topical products are being used, the veterinarian should determine the appropriate application order and interval. For infections, fungal disease or severe inflammation, treatment of the underlying condition should come first.

The product material reports biological safety testing for BARRIPET Spray MD, including acute toxicity, cytotoxicity, skin sensitisation and intradermal reaction testing. The reported results were Pass, No Cytotoxicity, No Sensitisation and No Skin Irritation. BARRIPET Spray Plus MD is for external use only and should not be applied directly to the eyes or mucous membranes.
